Web-Based e-Nagar Palika 2.0 Implemented for Urban Local Bodies
The Urban Development and Housing Department of Madhya Pradesh has launched the centralized, web-based e-Nagar Palika 2.0 system to computerize all urban local bodies across the state. This initiative aligns with the objectives of Digital India and aims to provide transparent and swift citizen services. The project stands as a remarkable example of e-governance.
Under e-Nagar Palika 1.0, an integrated online platform was provided for all urban services including citizen services, public grievance redressal, internal administrative processes, payments, and budgeting. Madhya Pradesh became the first state in India to bring all its urban bodies under a single unified portal.
Integration and Advanced Technology
e-Nagar Palika 2.0 has been integrated with other state and central departments such as Industries, Revenue, and Registration, along with the Government of India’s UMANG mobile application. It runs on a unified SAP-ERP platform across all urban bodies, delivering 24 citizen services through 16 specialized modules.
Physical infrastructure has been replaced with cloud services. Advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographical Information System) integration and Artificial Intelligence are also utilized to enhance decision-making and service delivery.
Unified Access and Service Points
The system is further integrated with Common Service Centers (CSCs), MPOnline kiosks, and online payment gateways. e-Nagar Palika 2.0 is built on an open-source platform to ensure flexibility and scalability.
Implementation and Website
The portal's development will be completed over a period of two years, followed by five years of operation and maintenance by the selected vendor. The department has also launched its official website at www.mpurban.gov.in, where static and dynamic information related to urban bodies is made available to the public.
