Madhya Pradesh Introduces Electric Vehicle Policy 2025 with Major Incentives

The Madhya Pradesh government has launched the Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2025 to promote the adoption of electric vehicles in the state. Key highlights of the policy include:

• Registration Fee Waiver: A 100% waiver on registration fees for electric vehicles purchased by March 26, 2026. This exemption is applicable to battery-operated vehicles upon issuance or renewal of registration certificates.
• Road Tax Exemption: One-year exemption from road tax for electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and cars. Specific exemptions are:
  • Two-wheelers: Up to ₹5,000
  • Three-wheelers: Up to ₹10,000
  • Electric cars: Up to ₹25,000
• Charging Infrastructure Support: A 30% subsidy for individuals and organizations installing charging stations, aiming to enhance charging infrastructure across the state. 
• Government Fleet Electrification: A target to convert 80% of government vehicles to electric within the next five years, demonstrating the state's commitment to sustainable transportation. 
• Green Number Plates: Introduction of green number plates for electric vehicles to easily identify and promote EV adoption.
