Madhya Pradesh Government to Work in AI Mission Mode
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the state government is taking concrete steps to establish AI as the foundation for citizen-centric, transparent, and efficient governance. AI-based administrative systems, management, technology, and academic innovation will effectively support the goal of Developed India@2047. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working to advance India in all sectors.
Madhya Pradesh also hosts study centers for Lord Krishna and Shankaracharya Ji. The state government is moving forward with a human-centric approach and using AI to implement welfare schemes across departments. AI is currently a transformative force for governance, industry, and society. The state will soon launch an AI policy and work extensively in mission mode. There are significant opportunities for AI use in the mining and healthcare sectors.
AI Impact Conference and Space Tech Policy 2026
On January 15, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the "Madhya Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference-2026" at Taj Lakefront, Bhopal. He lit the ceremonial lamp to start the event and flagged off the 'Future Skills for AI-Powered India' skill chariot under the AI Literacy Mission. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Madhya Pradesh Space Tech Policy-2026. Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were exchanged in his presence.
Winners of the Ujjain Mahakumbh Hackathon and Madhya Pradesh InnoTech Competition were awarded. Additional Chief Secretary of Science & Technology, Mr. Sanjay Dubey, presented the state's AI vision titled "AI for People, Planet, and Progress - Madhya Pradesh Roadmap to Impact." Under the AI Literacy Mission, the short film 'Youth AI for All' was screened. MP State Electronics Development Corporation Limited GM Ashish Vashisth highlighted the conference objectives and the role of MPS EDC as the nodal agency to establish AI infrastructure.
Space Tech Policy and AI Labs
The Space Tech Policy aims to position the state as a leading hub in India's emerging space sector. The policy will provide financial, infrastructural, and research support to space tech startups, MSMEs, and industries. It will promote space-based applications in agriculture, disaster management, water resources, and urban planning, strengthening Madhya Pradesh's role in national space innovation and investment.
Under the Chief Minister's guidance, the Science & Technology Department signed six MoUs with Youngovator (Answer Foundation), CEEW, Google, NASSCOM, AISECT, and Bhashini. These agreements will promote education, innovation, robotics, climate change, sustainable development, AI-based governance, and skill development. Additionally, an agreement between India AI and the Technical Education, Skill Development & Employment Department will improve access to high-quality AI education. Madhya Pradesh will establish 30 Data & AI Labs across the state.
