On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti (Youth Day), the Madhya Pradesh government has made a significant decision for the state's youth. Now, every student will have their health record maintained as soon as they take admission in a college. Through this initiative, the government aims to improve the physical, mental, and emotional health of students along with their education.
On January 12, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav launched the 'Yuva Shakti Mission' at Ravindra Bhavan. Under this mission, the 'Umang Education Health and Wellness' program has been initiated. As part of the program, regular health check-ups will be conducted for every student in all universities and colleges of Madhya Pradesh. An Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA ID) will be created for each student.
This program will be jointly managed by the Higher Education and Health Departments. Additionally, the government has introduced the Tele-Mann (14416) service for youth, offering mental health support. The Umang Helpline number (14425) has also been launched, where students can receive health-related information. A chatbot called 'Just Ask' has been introduced to provide information about the harmful effects of addiction and ways to overcome it.
