Madhya Pradesh to Conduct Two Board Exams for 10th and 12th Classes
Madhya Pradesh will now conduct board exams for class 10th and 12th twice a year. This new system will come into effect from the 2024-25 academic year, meaning students taking the board exams in February will be eligible for the second exam in July. The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has issued a notification to implement this change, ending the system of supplementary exams.
Key Details of the New Exam Schedule:
- The first exam will be conducted in February-March.
- The second exam will be held in July-August.
- The annual results will be based on the marks from both exams.
- Supplementary exams will no longer be conducted.
Currently, about 17 lakh students are enrolled for the 10th and 12th exams, with results expected to be declared soon. After that, the second set of exams will be held in July. The Education Department issued the notification after amending the Madhya Pradesh Secondary Education Board Rules, 1965, which was published in the official gazette.
The draft amendment was notified on March 21, with a 15-day window for objections and suggestions, which has now been finalized.
