On March 5, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his happiness about the increasing tiger population and the achievements made in their conservation. He congratulated the forest department officials, employees, and the people of the state. Chief Minister Yadav announced that Madhya Pradesh, which has already earned the title of "Tiger State" in India, will soon receive a new tiger reserve park. Madhav National Park in Shivpuri district will become the state’s 9th tiger reserve, which will emerge as a major tourist destination for wildlife enthusiasts in the Chambal region.
The Chief Minister also stated that he himself will release a pair of tigers into the Madhav National Park. The increase in tourist numbers in the Chambal region will provide local youth with employment and self-employment opportunities. The Kuno National Park in Chambal is also the first place in Asia where cheetahs are now visible. The Chambal River region is also working on projects related to crocodiles and dolphins.
In a message to the media on Wednesday, Chief Minister Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of tigers in the country, attracting a large number of tourists who come to the state to see them. All the national parks in the state, especially the tiger reserves, experience a steady flow of tourists throughout the season to enjoy jungle safaris.
