Low Youth Participation in Government Jobs Despite Efforts

Between 2018 and June 2023, 62.75 lakh unemployed youth in Madhya Pradesh registered at employment offices. The number has now decreased. In 2018, 26.82 lakh unemployed youth were registered, which rose to 33.13 lakh in 2023. However, by 2025, the number declined to 25,76,806.

The Madhya Pradesh government has been continuously working to provide employment to the youth. Despite these efforts, youth participation in government jobs remains low. Only 68,000 youth in the 18-30 age group hold regular government jobs, while the highest number, 93,116 government employees, are in the 45-50 age group.

Employment in Private Sector

The government claims to have provided jobs to 76,000 youths this year, including both private and government sectors. The youth who remain unemployed have been referred to as "aspiring youth", totaling 25,76,806 in Madhya Pradesh. This year, 6,91,887 new unemployed youths registered for employment.

The Mohan government has also focused on providing jobs in the private sector. Efforts include attracting both domestic and foreign investments. The year 2025 was declared as the Industry Year, and during the 23-month tenure of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, industries worth 8 lakh crore rupees were established, providing jobs to six lakh youth.

Job Registration Trends Over Seven Years
