Latest General Knowledge Updates – 12 September 2025

• Indian Navy Launch: The Indian Navy launched its 11th Ammunition-cum-Torpedo-cum-Missile Barge 25 (Yard 135) at Thane. This is developed under the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives.
• Clean Air Survey Awards: Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav distributed the Swachh Vayu (Clean Air) Awards. Indore, Jabalpur, Agra, and Udaipur ranked among the top. Indore and Udaipur were also recognized as Ramsar Wetland Cities.
• New NIScPR Director: Dr. Geeta Vani Raisam took charge as the Director of the National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research, prioritizing science communication and policy initiatives.
• Kid of the Year 2025: 17-year-old Indian-American Tejaswi Manoj was named TIME Magazine’s Kid of the Year 2025 for developing the ‘Shield Seniors’ platform to protect the elderly from online fraud using AI and chatbot technology.
• NASA Mars Discovery: NASA confirmed that its 2024-collected “Sapphire Canyon” sample from Mars contains life-like substances, marking one of the strongest signs of possible past life on the Red Planet.
• Greenfield Highway Project: The Cabinet approved the construction of the 82.4 km Mokama-Munger Greenfield Highway in Bihar. The ₹4,447 crore project will improve connectivity in Eastern Bihar and is part of the Buxar-Bhagalpur road corridor under Hybrid Annuity Model.
• India’s Fastest T20 Victory: India achieved its fastest-ever T20 win by chasing 58 runs in just 4.3 overs against UAE in the opening match of the Asia Cup, with 93 balls remaining.
• Digital Tribal Education Platform: The Tribal Affairs Ministry launched the “Adi Sanskriti” digital learning platform including:
  • Adi Vishwa Vidyalaya – Digital education content
  • Adi Sampada – Cultural resources
  • Adi Haat – Online tribal market
• ISRO Tech Transfer to HAL: Under its 100th technology transfer agreement, ISRO granted Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) the right to build Small Satellite Launch Vehicles (SSLV), marking the first time ISRO has licensed its rocket tech to a private company.
