- China launched the world's first electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) cargo aircraft named V2000CG CarryAll. It can travel at a speed of 200 km/h.
- IndusInd Bank appointed Rajeev Anand as its new Managing Director and CEO for a period of three years. He was previously Deputy MD at Axis Bank. The appointment is subject to shareholder approval.
- The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) now has an approved strength of 2.20 lakh personnel. Around 14,000 personnel will be recruited annually to enhance security in industrial hubs and for development in Naxal-affected areas.
- According to S&P Global’s HSBC India Services Purchasing Managers’ Index report, India’s service sector index in July stood at 60.5 — the highest in 11 months — driven by global demand and strong domestic sales.
- The India Post will discontinue its Registered Post service from 1st September. This decision is part of a modernization plan, and the service will be merged into Speed Post. The Registered Post service was nearly 50 years old.
- JSW Steel and Japan's JFE Steel will invest ₹5,845 crore in the production of Grain-Oriented Electrical Steel (CRGO). This will enhance CRGO production at the Nashik and Vijayanagar plants.
- Russia officially announced its complete withdrawal from the INF Treaty (Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty). This arms control agreement, initiated in 1987 between the US and the Soviet Union, aimed to curb the nuclear arms race and banned ground-launched ballistic and cruise missiles with a range of 500 to 5,500 km. The US withdrew in 2019, citing Russia’s violation (related to the 9M729 missile).
