- India’s young athlete Giovanna De Sequeira won a bronze medal at the World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship held in Abu Dhabi. The 10-year-old secured the medal in the Infant/Girls Gi category competing in the below 28 kg weight class.
- In the Asia Power Index, India ranked third, behind the USA and China. The index was released by Australia’s Lowy Institute. The report highlights growth in India’s economy, military capability, and diplomacy.
- After the destruction caused by Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka, India launched Operation Sagar Bandhu. India sent relief materials via INS Vikrant and INS Udaygiri. “Sagar Bandhu” means Ocean Friend—a supportive neighboring nation in times of need.
- India and the United States finalized a deal worth ₹7,900 crore for support of naval helicopters. This includes provisions for spare parts, technical assistance, mechanic training, and inspection facilities within India.
- According to the Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics, India remains the world’s largest milk producer in 2024–25. The production of milk, eggs, meat, and wool has also increased. India ranks second globally in egg production.
