• Ravindra Jadeja Achieves Rare Test Cricket Double: Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has become the fourth player in the world and the second from India to score 4,000 runs and take more than 300 wickets in Test cricket. The previous players are Kapil Dev, Ian Botham, and Daniel Vettori.
• India Becomes 6th Largest Patent Filer: India filed over 64,000 patents in 2023-24, making it the 6th largest patent filer globally. India’s Global Innovation Index ranking improved from 81 in 2015 to 38 in 2025.
• Saranda Forest Declared Wildlife Sanctuary: The Supreme Court has ordered the Jharkhand government to declare the Saranda forest in West Singhbhum (820-900 sq km) as a wildlife sanctuary. It is Asia’s largest natural sal forest.
• Lepcha Instruments in Sikkim Receive GI Tags: Two traditional Lepcha musical instruments, Tungbuk and Pumtung Pulit, have received Geographical Indication (GI) tags. Tungbuk is a three-stringed instrument, and Pumtung Pulit is a bamboo flute inspired by nature.
