• Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu won gold at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship held in Ahmedabad. She lifted a total of 193 kg (Snatch: 84 kg, Clean & Jerk: 109 kg), breaking previous records.
• NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) launched Project Aarohan to support the education of toll plaza employees’ children. This initiative will run until the year 2026.
• Shooter Sift Kaur Samra won double gold at the Asian Shooting Championship. She clinched the 50m Rifle 3 Position individual title and also led the team to win gold.
• India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) reported a net profit of ₹134 crore in 2025. The bank now serves over 12 crore customers and its annual revenue has crossed ₹2000 crore.
• India will purchase 113 GE-404 engines from American company GE for ₹8,300 crore. HAL has already acquired 99 engines for 83 jets, and now 113 more are needed for 97 jets.
• The Hockey Asia Cup trophy was unveiled in Delhi. The tournament will take place in Bihar from August 29 to September 7. This will be Bihar’s first-ever international hockey event.
• Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has retired from the IPL. He played 221 matches, took 187 wickets, and scored 833 runs. In the last season, he played 9 matches for CSK.
• The RBI will launch an Inflation Expectations Survey across 19 cities. It will gather household opinions on current and future price trends, influencing future monetary policies.
• The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended Justice Shri Chandrashekhar as the new Chief Justice of Bombay High Court. Upon approval, he will become the 49th Chief Justice of the court.
