- India wins gold in Speed Skating World Championship: For the first time, India won gold at the Speed Skating World Championship held in China. Anandkumar Velkumar and Krish Sharma achieved this feat. 22-year-old Velkumar won gold in the Senior Men’s 1000m sprint with a time of 1:24.924 minutes and also secured bronze in the 500m. Krish Sharma won India’s second gold in the Junior 1000m sprint.
- Freedom Edge military drill: The United States, Japan, and South Korea have started the 'Freedom Edge' joint military exercise near Jeju Island, South Korea. The drill includes missile defense, air and naval operations, maritime exercises, and cyber coordination.
- PM Modi inaugurates Purnia Airport terminal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the interim terminal of Purnia Airport in Bihar and launched projects worth around ₹36,000 crore. These projects span power, railways, and agriculture sectors.

- India adds 7 natural sites to UNESCO Tentative List: India added 7 new natural sites to UNESCO’s World Heritage Tentative List, bringing the total to 69 sites. The new entries include:
- Deccan Traps (Maharashtra)
- St. Mary’s Islands (Karnataka)
- Meghalaya’s Edge Caves (Meghalaya)
- Naga Hill Ophiolite (Nagaland)
- Erramatti Dibbalu (Andhra Pradesh)
- Tirumala Hills (Andhra Pradesh)
- Varkala Cliff (Kerala)
- Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC): PM Modi participated in the CCC at the Eastern Command Headquarters, Vijaydurg, Kolkata. Held once every two years, the conference gathers civil and military leadership to brainstorm the future of India’s defense strategy. Topics included handling of hazardous cargo, bulk goods, gas cargo, containers, and green fuels. Only commanders from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force participate.
