Khargone District to Receive National Water Conservation Award from the President
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav congratulated the citizens, public representatives, and officials of Khargone district for winning the first prize in the Best District (Western Region) category under the 6th National Water Awards. He also extended his best wishes to Kaweshwar Panchayat of Khandwa district, which has been selected as the joint second winner in the Best Gram Panchayat category.
Chief Minister Yadav said that it is commendable that Khargone district has secured the first position and Kaweshwar Panchayat of Khandwa district has received the second prize jointly. President Droupadi Murmu will present the awards on November 18, 2025, in New Delhi. Each national-level winner will receive a certificate, a trophy, and a cash reward in various categories.
Announcement of the National Water Awards
The Union Minister for Jal Shakti, C.R. Patil, announced the winners of the 6th National Water Awards at Shram Shakti Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday. The Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti declared a total of 46 winners (including joint winners) for the year 2024.
The awards are given across ten categories, including Best State, Best District, Best Industry, Best Water Users Association, Best Institution (excluding schools and colleges), Best Civil Society, and Best Individual for Excellence in the Water Sector.
