Kavivarya Bhaskar Ramchandra Tambe Kriti Awards Announcement
The Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Religious Trusts & Endowments (Independent Charge) Shri Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi has announced the Kavivarya Bhaskar Ramchandra Tambe Kriti Awards, established by the Marathi Sahitya Academy, Bhopal. These prestigious awards will be given for literary excellence in the categories of Poetry/Drama and Short Story/Novel for the calendar year 2021.
Mr. Balkrishna Sonvane from Jalgaon has been selected for the Poetry/Drama Writing category for his work "Samajutdar Janivanche Kavade" (The Door of Consciousness). In the Short Story (Katha)/Novel (Kadambari) category, two writers will be jointly awarded: Mr. Jayant Pawar from Mumbai for his work "Mori Neend Nasani Hoy" and Ms. Geeta Joshi from Solapur for her work "Dokam Shabut Ahe" (The Mind is Intact).
Shri Lodhi further informed that the awards ceremony will take place on February 27, 2026, during the "Marathi Gaurav Divas" event in Bhopal, which coincides with Marathi Language Day. The three award-winning writers will be honored with a cash prize of ₹51,000 each, a certificate of appreciation, a shawl, and a coconut.
It is noteworthy that the Marathi Sahitya Academy awards the Kavivarya Bhaskar Ramchandra Tambe Kriti Awards annually in various literary genres, with the aim of preserving and promoting Marathi literature and culture.
