Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a post on X that Smritivan in Kutch is a tribute to those we lost in the tragic earthquake of 2001. Modi said that he is happy that this museum has got a place in the world selection for the Prix Versailles Museum 2024.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has praised UNESCO's initiative. Shah said the listing of Smritivan under the prestigious Prix Versailles Award will spread the fragrance of memories of those who lost their lives in the Bhuj earthquake across the world.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that this is the first time that an Indian museum has received such a global recognition for the expression of local culture and nature conservation.
