JEE Main 2026: 13.20 Lakh Applications Received, Last Date Not Extended
Approximately 13.20 lakh applications have been received for the first phase of JEE Main 2026. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified that the last date for applications will not be extended. Students are advised to keep checking the official website for updates. The application process has been successfully completed.
For the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) (JEE Main), nearly 13.20 lakh students applied for the first phase across the country. This number is higher than the 13.10 lakh students who applied for the first session in 2025.
The first phase of JEE Main will be conducted from 21 to 30 January 2026. NTA has announced that students will be given an opportunity to make corrections in their applications. The correction window will be open on 1 and 2 December.
During this period, students can correct the following details:
- Name, father’s name, and mother’s name
- Date of birth, gender, category, and sub-category
- Signature
- Exam center and mode of examination
The following details cannot be changed:
- Mobile number and email
- Permanent and current address
- Emergency contact number
- Photograph
NTA has clarified that exam centers will be allocated based on students’ permanent and current addresses. Students are not obligated to accept the initially provided exam center options.
