Jasprit Bumrah Becomes Highest-Ranked Indian Bowler in ICC Test Rankings

   

Jasprit Bumrah makes history, just 41 points away from the No. 1 ranking

   

In the latest ICC rankings, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been rewarded for his outstanding performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Bumrah became the first Indian bowler to achieve 907 rating points, surpassing Ravichandran Ashwin in the process. He has been in exceptional form, taking 30 wickets across the four matches of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

   

On January 1, Bumrah created history by not only holding the top position among bowlers in the ICC Test rankings but also becoming the first Indian bowler to achieve the highest rating points. Bumrah now has 907 rating points, pushing Ashwin down in the rankings. Meanwhile, young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has also reached the fourth position in the batting rankings.

   

Jasprit Bumrah's remarkable performance in the series has earned him this recognition, despite India losing two of the four matches played so far in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Bumrah has been one of the standout bowlers in marquee bilateral series, with an impressive 30 wickets in four matches. However, his stellar individual performances have not been enough to turn the tide in India’s favor in the series.
