Janapav to Become Parshuram and Krishna Spiritual Heritage Site
On the occasion of Lord Parshuram Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited Janapav, the birthplace and penance site of Lord Parshuram, and offered prayers.
During the visit, he announced the development of Janapav as “Lord Parshuram and Krishna Lok.” He said that Lord Parshuram was a master of both weapons and scriptures.
He emphasized that Parshuram remains immortal in every era and was not only a guru but also a great teacher who trained warriors like Bhishma, Dronacharya, and Karna. He also gave Lord Krishna the Sudarshan Chakra.
The Chief Minister said that Lord Parshuram’s life, principles, and teachings remain highly relevant and inspirational for modern India.
Development Plan for Janapav
Janapav will be developed as a major spiritual and religious tourism destination with an investment of approximately ₹17.5 crore.

- Infrastructure development
- Improved road connectivity
- Attractive lighting systems
- Facilities for devotees and tourists
Religious Tourism and River Revival
Janapav is the origin of several rivers including Chambal, Gambhir, Ajnar, and Choral. The state government will work on reviving Gambhir and Ajnar rivers to improve irrigation for thousands of hectares of farmland.
The Chief Minister also stated that sites related to Lord Krishna’s legacy will be developed into grand pilgrimage destinations under the Krishna Pathway initiative.
The event was attended by Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, MLA Usha Thakur, and other officials. The Chief Minister was honored with a statue of Lord Parshuram and a ceremonial weapon (Parshu).
