ISRO to Launch CMS-03 Communication Satellite on November 2, 2025
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announced on October 26 that it will launch the CMS-03 communication satellite on November 2 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, using the LVM3 launch vehicle. In a statement, ISRO said, “India’s LVM3 launch vehicle will carry CMS-03 into orbit on its fifth flight (LVM3-M5) on November 2, 2025.”
According to the space agency, CMS-03 is a multi-band communication satellite designed to provide services across the Indian territory as well as a wide maritime region. Weighing approximately 4,400 kilograms, it will be the heaviest communication satellite ever launched from India into a Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO).
ISRO noted, “The previous flight of LVM3 successfully launched Chandrayaan-3, making India the first country to land a rover near the lunar south pole.” The agency added that the launch vehicle has been fully prepared, and the satellite has been integrated with it. It was moved to the launch pad on October 26 for the final pre-launch checks.
