Billionaire businessman Elon Musk's company SpaceX successfully launched the country's latest communication satellite GSAT-N2 from Cape Canaveral in the US. NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), gave this information. NSIL said that the 4,700 kg 'GSAT-N2 High-Throughput' (HTS) satellite has been placed in its desired orbit through the Falcon 9 rocket. NSIL wrote on the social media platform 'X', 'NSIL's 'GSAT-N2 High-Throughput' (HTS) communication satellite was successfully launched from Cape Canaveral, USA on 19 November 2024.' NSIL said, 'GSAT-N2 weighing 4,700 kg has been placed in the desired geosynchronous transfer orbit (GTO) and ISRO's 'Master Control Facility' (MCF) has taken control of the satellite. Initial data shows that the satellite is in good condition. ' He told that NSIL's second demand-based satellite 'GSAT-N2' is a 'Ka-band High Throughput' communication satellite which will enhance broadband services and in-flight connectivity of aircraft across the Indian region. India had to rely on SpaceX, founded by billionaire Elon Musk, to launch its latest communication satellite GSAT-N2 from US soil as its existing launch vehicles do not have the capability to carry more than 4,000 kg of payload, former ISRO chiefs said on November 19. SpaceX put the 4,700-kg GSAT-N2 high-throughput (HTS) satellite into the desired orbit on a Falcon 9 rocket.
