Indore Renames Radisson Square to Lord Parshuram Square; 10 Parks and Roads to be Renamed
The process of renaming prominent landmarks in Indore city has officially begun. The committee formed by the Municipal Corporation's Mayor-in-Council (MIC) approved the renaming of Radisson Square to Lord Parshuram Square, along with 10 other parks, roads, and junctions.
On 15 October 2025, a significant decision was taken in this regard. The proposals were discussed and approved in a meeting chaired by Public Works Committee in-charge Rajendra Rathore. The meeting included committee members, Traffic Department head Rakesh Jain, and other departmental officers. The final decisions will be presented in the upcoming Mayor-in-Council meeting and later for approval in the council conference.
Names Approved by the Committee
- The park near Ganesh Temple in Kedar Nagar Colony will now be called Maharana Pratap Park.
- The park in Keshav Nagar, Gareeb Nawaz Colony will be named Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park.
- The Chikoo Wale Park in Smriti Nagar will now be Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Park.
- The park in Scheme 74 BG, Vijay Nagar (formerly Sisodiya Park) will be renamed Devi Ahilya Bai Park.
- The park opposite Scheme 140 will be called Govind Maloo Park.
- The park in Alok Nagar and on the banks of Pipliyahana Lake will be named Sameer Chitnis Park.
- The road from Khade Ganpati to TCS Square via Super Corridor will be named Rao Tularam Road.
- Radisson Square will now be called Lord Parshuram Square.
- Resham Gali Road will be named Late Dharamchand Panchal Road.
- The main road in front of Pancham Ki Phel will be called Shri Manmohan Parshwanath Bhagwan Road.
Rajendra Rathore stated that the names were chosen keeping in mind their social, cultural, and historical significance. This initiative will strengthen the city’s identity and cultural heritage, he added.
