Indore Leads in Cleanliness, Now Teaches Environmental Conservation
Indore, ranked number one in cleanliness, is now also stepping up as a teacher in environmental conservation. On September 4, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav flagged off 50 new electric AC buses and launched a mobile app called Quick Saf that provides on-demand home cleaning services.
Similar to popular food delivery apps, the Indore Municipal Corporation is introducing an app-based service for cleanliness and garbage collection. Residents can now book cleaning services online through the app, and the corporation will charge a fee for the service.
CM Flags Off 50 Electric AC Buses
Along with the app launch, the Chief Minister flagged off 50 electric air-conditioned buses under AICTSL (Atal Indore City Transport Services Ltd). These buses, costing ₹60 crore in total, will run up to 180 km on a single charge. The buses will operate on a net cost model, where the government will provide 40% Viability Gap Funding (VGF), and the operational cost will be zero.
To celebrate Indore's top rank in cleanliness, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav will also join sanitation workers for a special meal.
