On January 31, Indore’s Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport was ranked the second-best airport in India for passenger facilities in the last quarter of the year. According to the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey report, Indore Airport achieved the second position, while Trichy Airport claimed the top spot. Previously, in the third quarter, Indore was ranked fourth, and in the first and second quarters, it was ranked 12th.
Airport Ranking and Improvements
The Airport Authority of India released the quarterly ranking report for the last quarter of 2024 (October to December). Indore Airport scored 4.96 points, securing the second position, while Trichy Airport scored 4.97 points, topping the ranking. Significant improvements were made at Indore Airport during the last quarter, such as enhancing passenger services, reopening restaurants and shops, and improving security checks and cleanliness.
The result was that Indore Airport showed improvements in 29 out of 31 surveyed points. Only two points showed a decline in the final quarter of the year.
Airport Service Quality Survey
The Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey is conducted annually for airports with more than 1.8 million passengers. The survey, also known as the International Ranking Survey, includes 98 airports across 18 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. In India, 15 major airports are part of this survey, including Indore and Trichy airports.
