Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto to be the Chief Guest on Republic Day
Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto will be the chief guest at India's Republic Day celebrations. He will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During this visit, several key agreements are expected to be signed between the two countries. Subianto was elected as Indonesia's new President in October 2024.
The Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed that President Subianto has accepted Prime Minister Modi's invitation to be the chief guest at the 76th Republic Day Parade on January 26, 2025.
He will be visiting India for an official two-day visit to New Delhi on January 25-26. This will be his first visit to India. The Ministry of External Affairs also highlighted that India shares a long-standing and historic relationship with Indonesia, and both countries have elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
