भारत का स्वदेशी युद्धक जहाज आईएनएस इंफाल 26 दिसंबर को नौसेना में शामिल हो गया है। इस दौरान रक्षामंत्री राजनाथ सिंह भी मौजूद थे। साथ ही महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे और मणिपुर के मुख्यमंत्री आर बिरेन सिंह भी मौजूद थे। रक्षा मंत्रालय ने कहा कि इम्फाल पहला वॉरशिप है, जिसका नाम उत्तर पूर्व के एक शहर के नाम पर रखा गया है। रक्षा विशेषज्ञों का मानना है कि आईएनएस इंफाल से हिंद महासागर में चीन की बढ़ती गतिविधियों के बीच भारत की समुद्री क्षमता मजबूत होगी।

The Defense Ministry said that Imphal is the first warship to be named after a city in the North East. Defense experts believe that INS Imphal will strengthen India's maritime capability amid China's increasing activities in the Indian Ocean.
