On March 9, India won the Champions Trophy for a record third time. India became the first team in the history of the Champions Trophy to win it three times and to play in the final for the fifth time. The entire country erupted in celebration, with cricket fans bursting crackers to mark the victory. It felt like Diwali before Holi across India.

India defeated New Zealand in the final. Thanks to the captaincy performance of Rohit Sharma, and the collective efforts of Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul, and Kuldeep Yadav, India claimed the Champions Trophy title.

This is India's third time winning the trophy, and Rohit Sharma, as captain, has now won consecutive ICC trophies. Rohit was awarded the Player of the Match for his exceptional innings.
