India's Indigenous Solutions Are Globally Relevant: PM Modi
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the Global Fintech Fest 2025 in Mumbai, Maharashtra today. Warmly welcoming everyone present in Mumbai, PM Modi described the city as a hub of energy, enterprise, and endless opportunities.
He extended a special welcome to his friend, UK Prime Minister Mr. Keir Starmer, and expressed gratitude for his presence and valuable time at the festival. PM Modi recalled that five years ago, when the Global Fintech Festival began, the world was grappling with a global pandemic.
He emphasized that the festival has now evolved into a global platform for financial innovation and cooperation. He pointed out that this year, the United Kingdom is participating as a partner country, and highlighted how the partnership between the two leading democracies would strengthen the global financial landscape.
Praising the vibrant atmosphere and energy of the event, PM Modi called it remarkable and a reflection of the world's growing confidence in India’s economy and development. He congratulated Mr. Kris Gopalakrishnan, the organizers, and all participants for the successful event.
The Prime Minister highlighted the role of technology in empowering democratic values, stating: “India is the mother of democracy, and here, democracy is not just limited to elections or policymaking—it has become a strong pillar of governance.”
PM Modi mentioned that while the world has long discussed the digital divide—and India too was once affected—India has successfully democratized technology in the past decade. He added, "Today’s India is one of the most technologically inclusive societies in the world."
