India's First Government Cosmetic Laser Institute to Open in Jaipur
India’s first government-run Cosmetic Laser Institute of Dermatology is set to launch at the renowned Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur. Built with an investment of ₹7 crore, this state-of-the-art institute will offer advanced laser-based treatments for conditions like hair loss, facial warts, birthmarks, white patches, pigmentation, and unwanted hair.
The center will be equipped with cutting-edge machines including Dermascope, Trichoscope, Diode Laser, Fractional Carbon Dioxide Laser, and ND-YAG Laser. These devices will allow for precision dermatological procedures and non-invasive cosmetic treatments.
Specialized Laser Treatments in India for the First Time
The upcoming institute is being developed in the Charak Bhawan building of SMS Hospital, Jaipur – Rajasthan’s largest and most advanced medical center. This is part of a series of medical innovations introduced by the hospital, which has already launched genetic testing and toxicology labs recently.
This new dermatology institute will focus on treating skin and hair-related issues through laser technology. Treatments will include:
- Hair regrowth and strengthening
- Removal of warts and unwanted facial growths
- Laser hair removal
- Treatment of birthmarks and pigmentation issues
- Wound healing and scar reduction
- White patches and skin infections like Tinea (ringworm)
Modern Laser Technology to Benefit Thousands
With the use of Excimer laser technology, the institute aims to offer painless and precise skin treatments. Patients suffering from chronic skin disorders will greatly benefit once the center becomes operational in the next three months.
This marks a major leap forward in India’s dermatological and cosmetic treatment capabilities, bringing global-level technology to government healthcare services for the first time.
