India Wins Social Security Excellence Award 2025
India has been honored with the Social Security Excellence Award 2025 for its significant achievements in the field of social protection. The announcement was made by Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya, at a press briefing in New Delhi.
Minister Mandaviya stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India's social security coverage has expanded to 64%, reflecting the government’s commitment to inclusive growth. He also highlighted that India’s performance in the social security sector has improved significantly over the last decade.
During the event, the Minister also released the draft of the National Labour and Employment Policy titled "Shram Shakti Policy 2025" for public consultation. This policy aims to present a new, inclusive, and future-ready vision aligned with the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.
He added that this policy will also promote National Career Service as a digital public infrastructure for employment generation in India.
