India to Host Commonwealth Games After 20 Years in Ahmedabad 2030
India last hosted the Commonwealth Games in 2010 in Delhi. This time, the event will be held in Ahmedabad, where sports infrastructure has significantly improved over the last decade. India faced tough competition from Abuja, Nigeria for the 2030 Games bid.
In the 2010 Games, Indian athletes won 101 medals including 38 gold. Upon winning the hosting rights, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his happiness. Preparations for the Commonwealth Games 2030 in Ahmedabad have already begun, with world-class facilities being planned for athletes, officials, and spectators.
The main venues proposed for the Games include Narendra Modi Stadium, Narangpura Sports Complex, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave.
