Operation Sindoor Caused No Damage to India, Says NSA Ajit Doval
On July 11, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval spoke publicly for the first time about Operation Sindoor. Addressing the 62nd convocation of IIT Madras, Doval addressed doubts raised by several foreign media outlets, which had questioned India's airstrike on Pakistan and claimed damage on the Indian side.
“Not a single image, satellite photo, or credible proof has been shown by anyone that India suffered any damage,” Doval emphasized. “Some foreign outlets said Pakistan did this or that. I challenge them to show even a broken window in India,” he added.
The Background of Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor was India's response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, where terrorists killed 26 tourists in Jammu & Kashmir. On May 7, India conducted precise airstrikes on nine terrorist bases located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Over 100 terrorists were neutralized.
Following the operation, both countries agreed to a ceasefire from 5 PM on May 10.
"Proud of Operation Sindoor": Doval
Ajit Doval remarked, “We take pride in Operation Sindoor. It was executed with precision using indigenous technology. Every strike hit its intended target, and none of the camps were near the border. Our intelligence was accurate, and we destroyed only the terrorist bases.”
On India’s Historical Struggle
Doval further reflected, “You belong to a civilization that has been wounded and invaded for over a thousand years. Our ancestors endured great hardship to preserve the idea of Bharat as a nation. India as a nation is much older than the modern state.”
