भारत ने पहली बार बैडमिंटन एशिया टीम चैंपियनशिप के फाइनल में रचा इतिहास
18 फरवरी को बैडमिंटन एशिया टीम चैंपियनशिप का खिताब भारत महिला बैडमिंटन टीम ने थाईलैंड को हराकर जीत लिया है। भारतीय प्लेयर्स ने कमाल का खेल दिखाया। थाईलैंड हालांकि अपनी दो चोटी की खिलाड़ियों विश्व में नंबर 13 रतचानोक इंतानोन और विश्व में नंबर 16 पोर्नपावी चोचुवोंग के बिना इस टूर्नामेंट में उतरा था जिसका भारत को फायदा मिला।
भारत ने फाइनल में थाईलैंड को 3-2 से हराया। भारतीय महिला बैडमिंटन टीम पहली बार इस टूर्नामेंट का फाइनल खेल रही थी और भारत ने पहली बार में ही खिताब जीत लिया। पीवी सिंधु की अगुवाई वाली भारतीय महिला टीम ने तमाम विपरीत परिस्थितियों के बावजूद अपना अच्छा प्रदर्शन जारी रखा तथा दो बार के कांस्य पदक विजेता थाईलैंड को हराया।
On February 18, the Indian women's badminton team won the title of Badminton Asia Team Championship by defeating Thailand. Indian players showed an amazing game. However, Thailand entered the tournament without its two top players, world number 13 Ratchanok Intanon and world number 16 Pornpawee Chochuwong, which gave India the advantage. India defeated Thailand 3–2 in the final. The Indian women's badminton team was playing the final of this tournament for the first time and India won the title in the first attempt. The Indian women's team, led by PV Sindhu, continued its good performance against all odds and defeated two-time bronze medalists Thailand.
