Consecration Ceremony of India’s Second Largest Akshardham Temple Held in Jodhpur
The consecration ceremony (Pran-Pratishtha) of the newly constructed BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple in the Kali Beri area of Jodhpur took place at 6:45 AM on September 25, 2025. The divine idols were consecrated by Mahant Swami Maharaj, the spiritual head of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS).
This historic spiritual event witnessed the presence of thousands of saints, dignitaries, and devotees from across India and abroad, filling the city with a festive and devotional atmosphere. The entire city of Jodhpur came alive with joy, faith, and celebration.
The evening before the ceremony, the temple premises and skies lit up with fireworks, creating a spectacular scene reminiscent of Diwali. The sound of crackers and vibrant lights offered an unforgettable visual treat, which locals captured from their rooftops and homes.
A magnificent procession and tableaux were part of the celebration, deeply moving the public and spiritually uplifting the atmosphere. The grand display of devotion and color symbolized that the Akshardham Temple is now a new cultural and religious landmark of Jodhpur.
The Pran-Pratishtha rituals were performed with full Vedic chanting and elaborate ceremonies, sanctifying the idols of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and other deities. Large pandals (canopies) were erected to accommodate the massive crowd, offering devotees bhog-prasad (sanctified food) and satsang (spiritual discourses).
To make the event a grand success, over 2,500 volunteers worked tirelessly day and night, ensuring smooth execution of all arrangements.
