ICC Suspends USA Cricket's Membership
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended the membership of USA Cricket with immediate effect. This decision came after a one-year review and discussions with stakeholders.
The suspension was imposed due to USA Cricket's repeated breaches of obligations and failure to uphold the integrity of the sport. The ICC board noted that USA Cricket had failed to implement an effective governance structure, obtain recognition from the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC), and carry out necessary operational reforms.
Despite the suspension, USA's national teams will continue to participate in ICC tournaments, including preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. In the interim, the ICC and its representatives will temporarily manage the operations of the USA national teams.
To ensure proper oversight and structural reform, the ICC will form a special committee to develop a new governance framework for USA Cricket.
