Harshika Rikhari Wins Silver and Bronze in World Cup Yoga Championship
Harshika Rikhari, a 9-year-old yoga prodigy from Uttarakhand, made the nation proud by winning two medals at the 2025 International Yoga Championship held in Delhi. Harshika, known as "Rubber Doll" in Uttarakhand, clinched both a silver and bronze medal in the prestigious competition.
Harshika was the only participant from Uttarakhand in this competition. She made history by competing and excelling in the 4th World Cup Yoga Championship, organized by the Universal Yoga Sports Federation (UYSF) on December 27, 2025. The event saw participants from 17 countries, with Harshika representing India.
Silver and Bronze Medals in Different Categories
In the championship, Harshika won a silver medal in the Traditional Yoga competition, securing second place. She also earned a bronze medal in Artistic Yoga by placing third. Following her incredible achievements, many well-wishers have congratulated her.
Harshika’s Journey and Support from Her Father
Harshika’s father, Bhuwan Rikhari, shared that Harshika had been watching yoga videos on her mobile phone since the age of 5. Seeing her interest, he enrolled her in a yoga academy where she quickly mastered difficult poses. Harshika’s dream was always to win a medal for the country in an international competition, and with her achievements, that dream has come true. Bhuwan expressed his pride in his daughter’s success and hopes she will bring home a gold medal for the nation in the future.
Famous as the "Rubber Doll" in Haldwani
Harshika has already won numerous medals in state and national-level yoga competitions. So far, she has won 30 medals in six national competitions, including 15 gold medals. Her ability to perform incredible yoga poses at such a young age has earned her the nickname "Rubber Doll" in Haldwani.
A Brave Achievement Despite Illness
Harshika’s father also shared that she had been hospitalized due to viral fever just four days before the competition. Despite being discharged from the hospital only days before the event, Harshika insisted on participating and went on to secure two medals in the International Yoga Championship in Delhi. Her determination and spirit made her victory even more inspiring.
