Senior diplomat P. Harish was on 14 August appointed as India's next ambassador to the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Harish, a 1990 batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), is currently India's ambassador to Germany. He was posted as Additional Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs. During his tenure, he led the Economic Diplomacy Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, which deals with India's bilateral economic relations with other countries.
