Harikrishnan A Ra Becomes India's 87th Chess Grandmaster
Harikrishnan A Ra has officially become India’s 87th Grandmaster after securing his third GM norm at the La Plagne International Chess Festival in France on 27 july.
When Harikrishnan joined Grandmaster Shyam Sundar Mohanraj’s chess academy in Chennai in 2022, the coach’s first impression of him was his exceptional calculation ability. Now 24 years old, Harikrishnan’s consistent performance has led him to the elite list of Indian Grandmasters.
