Government Procures 51.75 Lakh Metric Tons of Paddy This Season
The Minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Shri Govind Singh Rajput, informed that so far, paddy worth 49,87,147 metric tons has been procured from 7,40,914 farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of ₹2,369 per quintal.
For comparison, last year 43,52,905 metric tons of paddy were procured. The procurement process will continue until 20 January 2026. Farmers have already been paid over ₹8,291 crore.
Farmer Participation and Procurement Centers
A total of 8,59,822 farmers have registered for paddy sales this season. Procurement started on 1 December 2025, with 1,436 centers established across various districts for efficient collection.
Of the total procured paddy, 79% (39,19,277 metric tons) has already been transported to storage and processing centers.
