Government Approves Electrification of 63,000 Tribal Households and Welfare Schemes

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, a Cabinet meeting was held on Tuesday at the Secretariat. During the meeting, a budget of ₹7,133.17 crore was approved for the continuity of tribal welfare and women & child development schemes from 2026-27 to 2030-31.

As part of this approval, ₹2,350 crore was allocated for the PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) food grant scheme, ₹1,703.15 crore for integrated hostel schemes, ₹1,416.91 crore for the CM Rise Schools project, ₹1,110 crore for housing assistance, and ₹522 crore for scholarships for Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste students.

Additionally, ₹31 crore was approved for the Chief Minister's COVID-19 Child Welfare Scheme.

The Cabinet approved the electrification of 63,000 tribal households and 650 government institutions under the Earth Father Tribal Village Upliftment Campaign (DA-JGUA). A grant of ₹366.72 crore has been sanctioned, with ₹220.03 crore from the Central Government and ₹146.69 crore from the State Government.

Under this scheme, ₹97 crore has been allocated for off-grid electrification of 8,521 homes through solar power and batteries. The state government will bear all the costs related to off-grid electrification.

The Cabinet also approved a one-time relaxation of the age limit by 5 years for employees working in IT departments of the High Court and District Courts, allowing them to participate in recruitment processes.

The Cabinet also gave its approval for the Madhya Pradesh Civil Service (Pension) Rules, 2026, which include provisions for pensioners, including unmarried, widowed, and divorced daughters eligible for family pensions. The rules are aimed at simplifying pension processes and providing timely resolution of cases.

Furthermore, the Madhya Pradesh Civil Service (National Pension System Implementation) Rules, 2026, were approved, which will come into effect from April 1, 2026. The new rules also include provisions for family pensions in case of death, voluntary retirement, and clear guidelines for contribution rates, calculations, and responsibilities in case of delays.
