Hockey India has appointed Sjoerd Marijne as the head coach of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team. This is his second tenure. Earlier, he served as head coach from 2017 to 2021. Under his leadership, India secured 4th place at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Hyderabad-based startups TakeMe2Space and EON Space Labs have developed a 14 kg mini Earth observation satellite. The mission, named MOI-1, will be launched by ISRO and will operate in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) at an altitude of 500 km.

India has commissioned its first indigenous pollution control vessel, ICGS Samudra Pratap, in Goa. This specialized ship of the Indian Coast Guard is designed to control oil spills and marine pollution. It is the first pollution control vessel designed and built indigenously in India. The ship is 114.5 meters long, making it the largest vessel in the Indian Coast Guard fleet. It can sail at speeds exceeding 22 knots and is equipped with a 30 mm gun for security. The vessel will be stationed at Kochi.
