Ganjbasoda Renamed to Vasudev Nagar: 69 Places in MP Have New Names
CM Mohan Yadav announced the renaming of Ganjbasoda to Vasudev Nagar during his visit to Vidisha district on 23rd November. He also inaugurated development works worth Rs 182 crore. The proposal for renaming Ganjbasoda has been sent to the central government for approval.
'From Heritage to Development'
Addressing the event, the CM said that Vidisha has historically been a center of nationalist ideology. The region has been associated with Rajmata Vijayraje Scindia, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj. Currently, it plays an important role in agriculture, industry, trade, and business. Ganjbasoda is progressing on the path from heritage to development.
69 Places Renamed So Far
Under CM Mohan Yadav's government, 69 places have been renamed so far. Previously, Islam Nagar in Bhopal was renamed Jagdishpur, Hoshangabad became Narmadapuram, and Nasrullaganj was renamed Bhairunda. Several places in Ujjain, including Maulana, Jahangirpur, and Gajni Khedi, also received new names. Additionally, 11 villages in Shajapur and 54 villages in Dewas districts have had their names changed.
