केंद्रीय परमाणु ऊर्जा और अंतरिक्ष राज्य मंत्री डा. जितेंद्र सिंह ने 7 जनवरी को कहा कि इसरो अपना गगनयान मिशन वर्ष 2025 में लांच करेगा और इसके तहत दो से तीन अंतरिक्षयात्रियों को 400 किलोमीटर की निम्न कक्षा में अंतरिक्ष में भेजा जाएगा।दो से तीन दिन अंतरिक्ष में बिताने के बाद उन्हें सुरक्षित वापस हिंद महासागर में समुद्र के भीतर उतारा जाएगा। इसके तहत यह वर्ष काफी महत्वपूर्व है और मिशन से जुड़ी कई परीक्षण उड़ानें इस वर्ष पूरी कर ली जाएंगी। मिशन से पूर्व अंतिम उड़ान में महिला रोबोट व्योम मित्र को भी अंतरिक्ष में भेजा जाएगा। वह एक अंतरिक्षयात्री की तरह सभी कार्य करने में सक्षम होगी। मंत्री ने बताया कि 2025 में जब हम पहले अंतरिक्ष यात्री को अंतरिक्ष में भेज रहे होंगे, हम उसी दौरान समुद्र के तल तक भी जाएंगे। 2025 में हम समुद्र तल के नजदीक तक जाएंगे और यह नई नीली आर्थिक क्रांति को जन्म देगा। इसरो गगनयान मिशन के लिए हेवी-लिफ्ट लांचर को एलवीएम-3 राकेट से लांच करेगा। गगनयान मिशन के लिए इसरो ने पिछले साल अक्टूबर में पहली टेस्ट फ्लाइट को लांच किया था। यह भारत का पहला ऐसा अंतरिक्ष मिशन होगा, जिसमें अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों को कुछ समय के लिए निम्न कक्षा में अंतरिक्ष ले जाया जाएगा।
