Fighter Jet Crashes in Dhaka: 27 Dead
On July 21, a Bangladesh Air Force trainer aircraft F-7BGI crashed on the campus of Milestone School and College in Dhaka, killing 27 people.
The Bangladesh military stated that the accident was caused by a technical failure. The pilot tried to steer the aircraft away from populated areas but it collided with the school. The Air Force has launched a high-level investigation.
The casualties include 25 students, 1 teacher, and the pilot. More than 171 people were injured, with over 78 in serious condition undergoing treatment.
Due to the incident, the government declared a one-day state mourning. At the time of the crash, classes were in session and hundreds of students were present at the school.
