26 फरवरी को जल्दी ही केंद्रीय वन व पर्यावरण मंत्री भूपेन्द्र यादव ने जल्द ही मप्र में प्रोजेक्ट टाइगर की तरह प्रोजेक्ट एलिफेंट चलाए जाने की जानकारी दी।

मुख्यमंत्री डॉ मोहन यादव के निवेदन पर केंद्रीय वन मंत्री ने कहा की मध्यप्रदेश एलीफेंट प्रोजेक्ट भी चलाया जाएगा और हाथियों से बचाव के लिए स्थानीय लोगों को शिक्षित किया जाएगा। स्थानीय लोगो को गजमित्र बनाया जायेगा।

प्रोजेक्ट एलिफेंट के अंतर्गत केंद्रीय दल मध्य प्रदेश आएगा जो असम और केरल के राज्यों के अनुभवों के साथ यहां के हाथियों के झुंड की व्यवहारों का अध्ययन करेगा और उसके संबंध में अपनी रिपोर्ट राज्य सरकार को देगा। इससे हाथियों के संरक्षण पर काम किया जा सके।

केंद्रीय वन, पर्यावरण मंत्री श्री भूपेंद्र यादव ने कहा की मध्यप्रदेश इको टूरिज्म का केंद्र बिंदु है। जंगलों, अभयारण्य, टाइगर रिजर्व क्षेत्र अन्य जगहों पर की तुलना में सबसे ज्यादा क्षेत्र मध्यप्रदेश में पाए जाते हैं।

On the request of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Union Forest Minister said that Madhya Pradesh Elephant Project will also be run and local people will be educated to protect them from elephants. Local people will be made Gajmitras.Under Project Elephant, the central team will come to Madhya Pradesh which will study the experiences of the states of Assam and Kerala along with the behavior of the elephant herds here and will submit its report in this regard to the state government. With this, work can be done on the conservation of elephants.Union Forest and Environment Minister Shri Bhupendra Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is the focal point of eco-tourism. The maximum area of forests, sanctuaries, tiger reserve areas are found in Madhya Pradesh as compared to other places.
