20 फरवरी को सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने महत्वपूर्ण घटनाक्रम में आम आदमी पार्टी के पार्षद कुलदीप कुमार को चंड़ीगढ़ का मेयर घोषित किया।
सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने चंडीगढ़ मेयर चुनाव का विजेता आम आदमी पार्टी के कुलदीप कुमार को घोषित किया है. आम आदमी पार्टी और कांग्रेस की याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने अहम फैसला सुनाया.
सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने चुनाव के रिटर्निंग ऑफ़िसर अनिल मसीह को कारण बताओ नोटिस दिया है. अनिल मसीह पर आरोप हैं कि उन्होंने आम उम्मीदवार को मिले आठ वोटों के साथ छेड़छाड़ की थी. मसीह को इस नोटिस का तीन हफ़्तों के अंदर जवाब देना है. आम आदमी पार्टी ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फ़ैसले को 'लोकतंत्र की जीत' बताया है. कुलदीप कुमार ने इसे 'चंडीगढ़ के लोगों की जीत' कहा है.
