Faiz Ahmed Kidwai Appointed DGCA Chief in Administrative Reshuffle

   

On January 3, the Indian government appointed Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, a senior officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), as the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Kidwai, a 1996-batch officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

   

According to an order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Kidwai has been appointed as the DG of DGCA, and his rank and pay scale will be equivalent to that of an Additional Secretary to the Government of India. Additionally, senior officer Akash Tripathi has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power. Tripathi is a 1998-batch IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre and currently serves as the CEO of MyGov in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

   

Kamlesh Kumar Son has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Employment and will also serve as the Additional Secretary and Mission Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission under the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation. Shubha Thakur, who was serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Inter-State Council Secretariat under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

   

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) also approved the promotion of senior IAS officer Vinay Kumar. Kumar, who currently serves as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, has been promoted to the position of Additional Secretary in the same ministry.
