Bank Selection Exam Pattern and Stages of Exams
The Banking Selection Test for IBPS for nationalized banks and State Bank Group is almost the same. There are three stages for Bank PO exam - Preliminary Exam (Pre Exam) , Main Exam (Mains Exam) and Group Discussion and Interview. In the preliminary exam, questions of Age , Average , Number System , Simplification , Ratio Proportion , Partnership , Profit and Loss are asked under Quantitative Aptitude . In this exam, questions of Puzzles , Blood Relation , Syllogism , Logical Venn Diagram and Sitting Arrangement are asked under Reasoning Ability . English questions are also asked in this exam . Which will be related to Word Power , Antonym-Synonym , Reading Comprehension and Cloze Passage. All questions are of objective type. In the preliminary exam, 10 times the number of total advertised posts are shortlisted and called for the main exam.
Both objective and descriptive questions are asked in the main exam . In the objective section of the main exam, questions related to reasoning , data analysis , general knowledge , English language , marketing and computer are asked. Whereas in the descriptive exam, there are questions of English language. In this, Maths , Reasoning , English , General Awareness and Computer questions are asked. Then merit is released on the basis of the marks of the main exam and interview and the final result is released.
