Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has become the first person in the world to cross the $500 billion net worth mark. According to Forbes Real-Time Billionaires List, as of the market close on Wednesday (October 1), Musk’s net worth reached $500 billion (approx ₹44.33 lakh crore).
This milestone was achieved after Tesla’s stock rose by 3.31% on the same day, boosting Musk’s wealth. As of now, his net worth stands slightly below that mark at $499.1 billion (₹43.99 lakh crore). Over the past decade, Elon Musk's wealth has increased 34 times.
Tesla Stock Performance
Tesla’s current market capitalization is around $1.44 trillion (₹127 lakh crore), with the stock priced at $459.46. In the last one year, Tesla's share price has delivered a 78% return, while in the past six months, it has gained 62%.
In India, Tesla currently operates two showrooms — one in Mumbai and another in Delhi.
Elon Musk’s Early Life and Business Journey
Elon Musk is currently the richest person in the world. He is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. Musk began programming at the age of 10 and created a video game named ‘Blastar’ at the age of 12. He sold the game to a local magazine for $500 — considered his first business achievement.
In 1995, he founded a web software company called Zip2. In 1999, Compaq acquired Zip2 for $307 million. From the deal, Musk earned $22 million for his 7% stake in the company. This marked the real beginning of Musk’s entrepreneurial journey.
