Elite Indian Commandos to Conduct Cross-Border Strikes: Joint Blueprint Finalized

Elite Indian Forces Will Now Strike Inside Enemy Territory – Joint Blueprint Finalized

A unified combat doctrine has been developed for India's elite commando units across the armed forces. This joint document outlines the strategy for the Army’s Special Forces, the Air Force’s Garud Commandos, and the Navy’s MARCOS Commandos.

Post Operation Sindoor, this initiative lays out every aspect of elite forces’ readiness. For instance, how India will respond if any nation or proxy terrorists engage in anti-India activities. It also clearly defines their role during wartime and peacetime.

The objective is to develop the capability to strike high-value strategic targets deep inside enemy territory. The doctrine also aims at crippling enemy economic and strategic infrastructure to weaken their war potential and morale.

Inspired by the World’s Deadliest Special Forces

The doctrine draws strategic parallels with global elite forces like America’s Delta Force and Navy SEALs, Russia’s Spetsnaz, and Israel’s Sayeret Matkal – all known for precise strikes inside enemy lines.

Strength Across Land, Sea, and Air

  • Indian Army: 9 Para Special Forces Battalions – experts in surgical strikes and hostage rescue across borders.
  • Indian Navy: MARCOS (Marine Commandos) – masters of naval warfare, underwater sabotage, and coastal security.
  • Indian Air Force: Garud Commandos – formed in 2004, specialize in airbase security, airborne strikes, attacking enemy airfields, and search-and-rescue missions. Experts in air warfare.

Global Benchmark: Top Special Forces of the World

1. Delta Force (USA)

A U.S. Army Special Operations unit formed in 1977. Main roles include counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, covert ops, and eliminating high-value targets. Recruits usually come from Green Berets and Army Rangers. Known for their intense mental and physical training.

2. Navy SEALs (USA)

Formed post-WWII in 1962, these are the U.S. Navy’s Special Operations force. Operate in all terrains – sea, air, and land. Known for missions like eliminating Osama bin Laden. Undergo grueling training including the infamous “Hell Week.”

3. Spetsnaz (Russia)

Russia’s Special Purpose Forces, dating back to Soviet times. Units operate under the military, intelligence, and internal security agencies. Specialize in espionage, counter-terrorism, sabotage, and rescue missions. Known for brutal, real-combat-style training.

4. Sayeret Matkal (Israel)

Also called Unit 269, formed in 1957. Operates highly classified intelligence and anti-terror missions. Renowned for global hostage rescue operations. Former Israeli PMs like Ehud Barak and Benjamin Netanyahu were once part of this unit. Information about the unit remains extremely secretive.
